We are a Care Quality Commission Registered Domiciliary Care Agency based in Dawlish, South Devon. We provide support at an hourly rate and we also provide sleep in support. We support people with a range of disabilities including Learning Disability, Physical Disability, Brain Injury and Mental Health issues.
We offer a range of support services, including support in the home and enabling in the local community. Currently, we support over 30 service users in Dawlish. Step by Step also work with local housing providers to find and secure tenancies on suitable accommodation.
We support our service users to access a range of Day –Care activities including Four Abilities in Teignmouth, the Swann Enterprise in Dawlish, and Dawlish Gardens Trust. We also work with local employment services to move our more able service users towards paid work.
We support service users for annual holidays both in the UK and abroad.
All servicer users are carefully assessed prior to commencing support and a Support Plan is created detailing the support we will provide. This is reviewed annually and as necessary.
Our staff do all they can to maintain privacy and dignity, providing NVQ trained support workers who focus on encouraging independence.
Our service users are encouraged to become involved in the world around them; to participate in elections, participate in community events, access community facilities (e.g. colleges, libraries), and make full use of local health services.
Our support provides sensible protection from danger through identifying and reducing any obvious risks. We do not believe in a ‘risk-free’ life though; we understand that taking reasonable risks can be interesting, fun and necessary to live life to the full.
